Problem statement
It is hard to find a decent apartment layout in Africa if you are an average income earner. Apartments that are spacious enough are either expensive or located far away from urban setups. The other challenge comes from the fact that decent furniture is expensive and so are interior designers, which means one hast to buy cheap furniture that in not as appealing as one would want, and do the interior layout themselves.
Brief
Given a regular sized one bedroom apartment, design the layout, furniture and decor in a manner that is user friendly, appealing, affordable and functional.
Solution
All the furniture, decor, tiles, fabric and products in general have been designed from scratch as custom products specifically for this project, none of which exist anywhere else. The layout, furniture and decor have been designed for an individual between the age of 20 to 35 who lives alone or with a spouse, has no children, their prefferable occupation is one in the creative industry such as design, music, film, art or computer related courses. This individual works from home often thus requires a lot of storage and enough furniture to accommodate an additional guest or a few guests.
