The armchair cushions take the form of your body and it is such bliss. The hours will pass, just you, the television and a popcorn bowl on your lap. This stupidly comfortable chair is the the hug you need when there is nobody to hug you, when the best you can do is enjoy some quiet time and your own company.
The tables are hardly ever missed in our houses, so often it is a sea of our creative messes, merging and spilling in the way that they do. For so long it has been faces down beneath that chaotic splendour. The tops are something else, something painted so many times before being sanded and varnished... and all those colours are still there in lines, in patches and in freckles within the grain. It is perhaps the most surreal rainbow I've ever seen, but one made to last even when the sun comes out.
