The brainchild of Mersacury - a design studio led by long-standing automotive - the Pendragon flying car is a luxury two-door saloon that is connected to a drone-like platform.
Mersacury explains that the car is powered by EnOS, the world's largest energy IoT platform to communicate and share energy with other vehicles, homes and buildings, enabling what the firm describes as "a flexible and smart" future energy system.
Mersacury has already teamed up with German firm sonnen, which offers the sonnenCharger with its existing community of tens of thousands of solar and wind generators that enable clean electric charging in Germany right now.
The idea is that this electric vehicle will run on 100 per cent renewable energy, 100 per cent of the time.
The EV Concept is powered by four 200Kw electric motors and a 200kWh battery pack, offering a 560-mile electric range and 934bhp.
Its design is also unique in so much that the driver enters by sliding windscreen forward, while passengers can clamber inside the cavernous cockpit via hinged doors that open in a gullwing fashion.
There are hints of seductive Italian car design from the 1960s and 70s in the exterior lines, yet the inside is thoroughly modern, sporting numerous touchscreen displays for all passengers and screens that wrap around the dash.
Refreshingly, there is little talk of autonomous drive modes here and instead, the driver gets and aeronautics-inspired steering wheel with thumb touchpads for simple vehicle operation.
