Premium Lounge seat
INTRODUCTION
Given the rate at which resources are being depleted, population growing along with the amount of waste being disposed of, recycling and reusing is becoming more of a necessity than an option. For this project I designed a high end lounge seat that would rival any lounge seat out there in terms of comfort, practicality, aesthetics, ergonomics and quality with the difference being that most of the parts used to create it are recycled.

CREATIVE DIRECTION
The design of this seat is inspired by a pod. The best application for it would be a spot you would choose to relax and read a book, listen to music or watch videos on your portable device. The immersive design of the seat keeps out most of the noise from outside and creates a feeling of isolation and privacy. The back rest is adjustable to accommodate different sitting positions and the general structure is rounded to offer the best proportions to comfortably hold a person.

DESIGN
The design is primarily composed of curves and circular shapes throughout its form no matter what angle you look at it from. The back support is C shaped meant to evoke a feeling of isolation and privacy for the user.
The black frame is made from recycled metal drum cutouts and then the memory foam together with the vegan leather is attached to the insides to create the comfortable sitting area for both the seat and leg rest or stool.
The color contrast helps isolate the inside from the outside with the orange color creating a feeling of warmth which further elevates the feeling of comfort once seated on the lounger.
The platform on which the lounger sits is also made from the same drum with small rubber attachments at the bottom to offer grip and prevent wear and tear on the actual frame.
The stool or leg rest is just as comfortable to sit on and the shape is very accommodating the feel or body if one chooses to sit on it. The design of the stand makes it extremely difficult to topple over and fall forward, backward and sideways.
The overall design appears sophisticated but looking at it from a production point of view, the processes are simple and the materials used are accessible with ease.
The seat is adjustable as it can recline at the sitting area, back rest and head rest giving the user multiple adjustment options. The design of the stand makes it extremely difficult to topple over and fall forward, backward and sideways.
